Play leaders
We took part in a sports leadership session to develop our skills as play leaders. The main focus was on participants, area, communication and equipment. We played various games involving different equipment and looked at ways to choose teams to include everyone. Finally, we selected cards and worked in groups to teach the game to rest of the class.
Athletics competition
On Monday 14th October, twenty pupils from Year Five took part in an athletics competition. We took part in relay races, long jump, vertical jump, chest push, javelin and sprint races. Everyone tried their best in each event and we had a great time taking part. Well done everyone!
Hockey
Year Four enjoyed taking part in a hockey festival, with other local schools. It was great fun learning new skills and putting them into action with a game.
Emma said, “It was tricking learning how to dribble and pass. I enjoyed playing the game because I scored lots!”
Active 30:30
Year Three had great fun taking part in an active 30 morning, at Farringdon Sport Complex. While they were there, they took part in lots of sports activities such as boxing, archery, the daily mile and dancing.
Riley said, “I really enjoyed the boxing. I was out of breath!”
Tri Golf
Year 2 took part in a Tri-golf tournament. We learnt lots of new skills, including standing in the correct position and how to swing the club. It was tricky to use the golf club at first but we finally got the hang of it. We came in second place in the tournament. Well done!
Multi Skills
Year One took part in a multi skills morning with some of the other schools from our local area. It was lots of fun trying new games and activities, such as rugby and the hurdles. We worked well as a team and it was great meeting new friends too. We are going to try some of these games, in P.E later during the week.
